LEVEL IV: NSGCD TRAINING PROGRAM COACH

The objective and purpose of the NSGCD Training Program Coach, level IV, is to develop an organizer's skills and knowledge in the area of training, coaching, motivating, and communications. This program allows the intermediate and advanced organizer to work with a peer and in the process develop and improve their training and communication skills. This highly structured program develops patience, tolerance and acceptance for the individual in training. This development process will also assist the coach with their own current and future client work. In addition this program required publishing and presenting of material to further individual and group knowledge.

Entry Requirements: To participate in this program an organizer will need to

  • Be a member in good standing of NSGCD.

  • Have received NSGCD Certified Organizer Credential within last year. Click here for waiver information.

  • Be willing to provide telephone coaching service for 1 - 3 individuals over 2.5 years as explained in level 3 program.

  • Complete an application for program admittance and mail it with appropriate fees to the NSGCD. The fee of $500.00 includes a $50.00 non-refundable application fee.

  • Be willing to sign a statement of confidentiality with assigned Organizer(s) in level 3 program training.


Program Components:

Total Time Commitment: 85 hours

  • Attend Program Orientation and Introduction to Coach Syllabus 1 hour

  • Attend quarterly Coach Discussion Teleconference Group (5 hours)

  • Telephone Meeting with Level III organizer - 17 hours to 34 hours (note - 4 hours earned in first month of program).
  • Attend Independent Coaching session with Mentor Coach - (4 - 5 hours).

  • Provide Survey results - Semi annually on Coach Program Effectiveness - 2 hours

  • Publish an article on CD issues or create an educational tape (Can be prior to program acceptance within NSGCD or NAPO/POC or other approved organization) Estimated 6 hours

  • CD Direct Service 5 hours

  • Take a role in NSGCD Organization - Officer or approved project encompassing at least 15 hours

  • Complete NSGCD Training Program Coach Required Reading List, Statistical Surveys and Program Paperwork (estimate 20 hours)

  • Facilitate one NSGCD teleconference or present formally as a panelist in a NSGCD conference session. Estimated 5 hours

  • Facilitate a NSGCD new member orientation or NSGCD Study Session or discussion group. Prior to application ok. Estimated 3 hours

Upon completing all the requirements (including having successfully coached one Level 3 organizer thru their Level 3 peer review), the Level 4 Training Program Coach must submit the Level IV Completion Form. Once qualified, the Master Trainer (Level V) application may submitted.
